The NBCRI funds qualified research scientists and clinicians to carry out research into breast cancer. It also provides the necessary finances to purchase and maintain essential up-to-date laboratory research equipment for analysis of biological genes and proteins. |

The Breffni CHallenge: cAVAN/BALLINAGH TO ARVA
The Breffni Challenge is organised by the Breffni Challenge committee, St Patrick's GAA and the community of Arva to raise funds for St Luke's Hospital, Rathgar, the NBCRI (National Breast Cancer Research Institute) Galway and Cavan Cancer Homecare Association
The Breffni Challenge has been an annual event in Arva for the past 10 years and has raised over €800,000 to date.
The Breffni Challenge 2012 will take place on Saturday 4th August from Cavan to Arva. Participants can walk, jog, run and cycle the two distances from Cavan to Arva and Ballinagh to Arva. Cavan to Arva 20km and Ballinagh to Arva 13km.
